Lost Weight, A Psalm

When the minutes have lost their weight
And our every thought   shines like a golden coin
A single Holy Breath will be ours to keep

From the very bottom up   Love will leap and bound
Like a wild doe with following fawn
Into the open   unafraid   of any possibility

Like the first opening of human eyes
We will see   and wonder will name our tears
We will see   and know again the Seventh Day

We will see ourselves finally awake   and color
The world with a plenitude of peace   oh and we
Will go mad with a flurry of kisses on everything

We will see the world as it was meant to be
And a parade of creatures we didn't know as beautiful
Oh and we'll laugh as if drunk on pleasure and surprise

After all is said and done   that was easy   is all
That we will say   as if we meant it all along
You are worthy you are worthy you are worthy

And the stars will cascade from the dark night sky
Into a Star-fall of superabundant grace   as if to say
We've been waiting so long for your divine awakening

Oh how we'll sing-skip-dance   following Some Wild Doe
Into the Genesis of Surrender Yearning and Kiss   All
When the minutes have lost their weight
