Stardust and Laughter

And just exactly who are you?

Me? Yes, you: I mean me: but this goes for you, too! How do you answer this question? Do you answer with a name? With a gender? With a nationality? With a political or economic position? With a religious commitment? Or perhaps with a request for an oatmeal stout?

And what if the question expands into where did I / you come from? Do you have the audacity to suggest that, while an egg and sperm were agents of your arrival, you really are made from stardust and laughter? Yep: both of us are stunningly cosmic: our atoms trace back to the Possibility of Ancient Star-Being asking 'What if?' and 'Why not?' From the Bliss of Original Divine Orgasm, here we are!

As our atoms mix, mingle, and wander -- now here, now there -- the Cosmic Glue of Delight (one could just as well say 'laughter') keeps on shuffling and dealing the "cards" of existence and being... So, why the goddamn hell are we not realizing that we are all (and everything else besides) God-in-drag? Why do we insist upon this tired game of forgetfulness?

So, there is going to be another election of President of the United States this coming November: to listen to the pundits and the polls and the delegate-counters, it'll be a choice between the 'distrusted' and the 'despicable': as if that is our only choice! The dominant system of power and privilege would have us believe their hype: oh, sure, many people do because of "wages and profits": and so we all (99% of us anyway) find ourselves stuck between a "rock and a hard place"...

But if you look out on the margins, other stories are being told... like stories of stardust and laughter, of a Planet Alive, of the Divinity of the Human, of the sacredness of that coming together known as sex, of gender equality, of gentle communities, of sunshine on naked skin, of a rising consciousness readying for an evolutionary leap, of a return of the Divine Feminine -- the Mother -- within the Breath... and on and on into: every loving is sacred, people and the Planet are the only real profits, and we have within us and among us the Possibility of building the Earth into a Paradise sufficient for blessing the Original Starburst and Laughter...

If the Earth Breathes...

Imagine, for a moment or so, the possibility that Earth is a Living Being, that She is Breathing... that She is Divinely Conscious... and that we are alive with Her aliveness...

Bizarre? Contrary to centuries of orthodoxy? Mystical mumbo-jumbo? Heresy? Perhaps "yes" to each of the aforementioned... And what if, not only the Earth, but the entire Universe is Mother: is Alive: is still Birthing: and is the visible "Sophia Wisdom": the creating manifestation of the Oneness that is Invisible?

Have you ever sat in rapt concentration to the tides, to the breeze, and to the birds? Have you ever gazed upon the sleeping form of your naked lover? Have you ever seen the trembling stars in a painting hanging silent in a museum -- only to observe the walls and ceiling vanish around you and everything turn into brilliant star shine? Have you ever walked into your home as a stranger -- knowing that the entire Universe wasn't large enough to contain your wonder and love in being "One Love"?

Sort of like one of Earth's many glorious rivers, the Sophia-Wisdom Source is in "no location"... small, hidden, unknown... yet, the very fabric of every particle, possibility, and consciousness... I guess that what I am trying to say is that there is "That" which is "other than" every observable limitation of space / time / place / perception / opinion / or belief system... Everything that is a part of "Is" is, at it were, a "way-station" or point of entry through which Wisdom or Oneness becomes visible: becomes the means through which "It" discovers, knows, and loves "Itself": in this sense, incredible as it is, we become the privileged Mothers of God in a Sacred Circle of Becoming Love...

This is why every act of disrespect, abuse, manipulation, exploitation, oppression, injustice, cruelty, and hate is a violent dismembering of the Divine Oneness (which is the Only Reality): this "pollution of the soul" is destructive many generations forward: evil cuts -- not just the immediate victim -- but many, many others -- perhaps even for hundreds or thousands of years... [For example, all the burning of women at the stake for Goddess identification is still being carried forward in sexism, religious fundamentalism, economic oppression, denial of equality with men, etc. and still causing untold harm].

In truth, the entire Earth is one Eco Village: our connections are "beyond deep": we are One... that which is done to "Beth" is done to a child in Kenya is done to a dolphin in the ocean is done to a worker on a sugar plantation is done to a protester in Russia is done to a black boy in Minneapolis is done... is done... There is no heaven above where our feet walk: if This is not everyday sacred, how can something else be? If our declaration of affinity is not with our breath, this moment, this thought, this word, and this action: it is a tragic waste of life! Emerson wrote, "If the stars would appear one night in a thousand years, how man would believe and adore." In still other words, our families and communities expand in endless circles of choice: it is yet possible to awaken and to experience our kinship with, well, with Everyone and Everything... from this wisdom-perspective, "do no harm" becomes the one clear Path...
