In the Garden of Eternal Delight, a Humble Tree stands, beneath whose branches contemplatives gather... as if to drink from each breath a heavenly liquor... There, the Poem of the Holy One, vibrates within the dancing atoms, within the manifesting energy, within the foundations of matter, within every existent thing, within every creature, and within the ever-rising Consciousness: returning All to One... The mystic draws into herself, with every breath, the "All" of Creation: re-integrating divergence into harmony: the subtle intention of evolution... With every exhalation, the mystic becomes a living-breath of remembrance: One Love Blessing... upon and within all... Walking again, out into the world, the mystic sees the previously hidden wholeness, the secret diaphanous shining, that is our real nature: steadily, she bears witness to the transfiguration of everything into the Unity, the One. Utterly vivified, she engages with clarified vision a world shrouded in the delusion of separation... She gives an entirely new meaning to "political radical" as she up-ends the apple carts of power and greed: working for equality, justice, environmental reverence, and the new paradigm of solidarity, she becomes Another Mother of God: giving birth to the beginnings of the New Creation... St. Mary, Companion-Bride of the Poet, lives on as the mystic-activist archetype: engaging the hearts of both contemplative and worker: St. Mary the Lover, mystic-mother of the contemplative-in-the-world, lives on in the Passion Play of the Poem written upon the loving human heart. She who walked with the Poem through the window of the cross into the fertile fields of endless delight: lives now for service, for love: for endlessly, Being in Love... and she continues throughout all time to welcome home and guide the secret surrendering of all those invited into the "little fraternity of the wounded lovers"... "Behold, the Lover of the One, loving still... in the rest of the heart, and in the workings of justice and mercy..."
